A theme of Paul throughout his letter to the church and believers in Colossae was "in Christ." He reminds them that their acceptance, their security, their purpose, their life, and their hope is found in Christ and in Christ alone. He wanted them to know that their full identity was not in their job, their family, their bank account, their social status, or even their best actions, but their full identity was in Christ.
