It's a Party!

August 12, 2012 not only was a brand new church started but God launched a movement of people to live as the church with the one mission of seeing people exchange their old life for new life in Christ and live out their purpose. Sunday, August 11th The Exchange will celebrate its first birthday and also the official opening of their new meeting space located at 417 N. Bierdeman Road (behind Trustmark Bank). It will definitely be a day to celebrate! Everything starts at 10:30am with the Gathering and KidLIFE & LittleLIFE activities (for ages birth-5th grade) followed by inflatables, refreshments, and fun for the whole family. Invite a friend and be a part of the celebration!

New Permanent Meeting Space

We continue to be humbled and amazed by the things God is doing with The Exchange. On the brink of our one-year anniversary as a church body, God is getting ready to birth even more ministry opportunities for us. Our meeting spaces have been portable from the beginning, meaning we set up our meeting space and tear it down each week. This has meant long labor hours for our people and limited opportunities for our children and students. Now, as we are nearing the end of months of renovations to our permanent meeting space, we are making final preparations to expand our family ministries and let our city know we are here to stay! We're excited to announce our first gathering in our new meeting space will be July 21st. The new space is located at 417 N. Bierdeman Road in Pearl right behind Trustmark Bank. We will keep you updated on news and pictures over the next few weeks as we near our public launch on August 11th.

June 5:15 LIFE

Saturday was a beautiful day to serve our community through 5:15 LIFE! The temperature was a cool 80 degrees; cool for our normal Mississippi summer temps, at least. Many people showed up to serve our local Center for Pregnancy Choices and our local Center for Violence Prevention's Second Chance Store. From kids to adults, there was plenty to be done and everyone pitched in!

God Is...

Week to week, we gather together to worship God, but we all have different ideas of who the God we're worshipping really is. From His character traits to how He interacts with us on a daily basis, join us as we uncover who God is during the month of June - Sunday mornings at 10:30am at Pearl Lower Elementary.

Pearl Day 2013

The Exchange hosted a Photo Booth at Pearl Day this past weekend where families and individuals could grab some props and take a silly picture. We had a great time meeting new people in the community and took some great pictures!  Check out the photo booth photos on Facebook.

We also handed out orange Exchange balloons and applied free temporary tattoos which were a big hit!

It was the hottest day of the year so far, but we had a great time! Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time to help make our booth a success!

Family Dedication

This past Sunday, Mother's Day, was a special day for The Exchange family. We not only celebrated mothers, but we also celebrated Family Dedication, or as some refer to it, Baby Dedication. Six families with new babies publicly dedicated themselves before God to raise their children according to His Word. We also had a special family worship service where our "big kids" joined us as we learned what God's Word says to children and to parents. Here are some pictures from the day!

May 5, 2013 Recap

May 5, 2013. Cinco de Mayo. Coldest day of Spring. Out of the box. Mind-shifting.

These are some words that describe this past Sunday as The Exchange took a break from our normal Sunday morning gathering to meet our neighbors. From cookouts with hotdogs to Cinco de Mayo celebrations with tacos to brunches with cheese grits, The Exchange body gathered across 4 different locations with one purpose: to intentionally meet those who live around us and show them the love of Jesus. Below are some pictures from the day:

New relationships were formed that will continue after this week, and our church body is learning to step outside our comfortable routines to go where people are and to show them Jesus. This is what we have been called by God to do - to live as the church.
